Memorial Day Weekend - Smart Shopping Strategies
In addition to honoring the brave men and women who have served this country and sacrificed their lives for our rights, freedoms, liberties, and safety, Memorial Day has come to serve a couple of other purposes over the years.
Memorial Day, which falls on May 30 this year, is just days away and is the unofficial start of summer! This weekend will be filled with countless parties and BBQ’s, family and friend time, and shopping!
The holiday weekend will chock-full of sales, deals, and discounts. Although, you will likely be cashing in on items like furniture and mattresses, which are categories that historically see deep discounts over Memorial Day; but, other products will not see such deep price cuts.
In order to get ready for the weekend you need to make sure you have a little bit of money and know how to get the best deals.
Fortunately, I can help on both counts. If you need cash fast, with no questions asked…and own a car, Coastal Title Loans & Finance, LLC (CTLF) can help with a very easy process and same day cash. You may call CTLF (714-701-8555), visit us online (www.coastaltitleloans.com) or just stop by our Westminster office. We are happy to help you get the instant cash you need.
Now, to make sure you get the best deals, here’s a list of items to skip over the long holiday weekend:
- The hot little swimsuit that’s calling your name. That colorful swimsuit may have you dreaming of beautiful beaches and relaxing ocean waves, but do not dive in just yet! Summer products usually cost more at the beginning of the season, and prices start to drop off midway through the season, or at the end when prices are at their lowest. So if you can forego, making that purchase now, you will swim into savings within the next few months.
- All things Apple. Try to refrain from electronics purchases this month, including Apple products. We tend to see an extreme rise in electronics deals around Thanksgiving, Black Friday and Cyber Monday in November. If you’re in the market for a new IPhone or phone plan, I recommend that you wait until September, when Apple is expected to release a new IPhone. New phone releases almost always mean price drops on older models.
- Early back-to-school Supplies. School’s almost out for the year, and some students and parents are eager to get a jump start onto next year! Judging by past years, the best back-to-school prices are in late August / early September, when stores start hosting blowout sales. That’s when you’re the most likely to get the best deals on supplies, backpacks, and even laptops.
- The “Anything & Everything On-Sale” Sales. Beware of retailers that claim “everything” in their store is on sale over Memorial Day weekend. Not everything that is included in these sale events is actually cheaper than it is at any other time of the year. Be a smart shopper and do your research before hitting the stores! Have an idea of what you want to buy, the normal prices, where they offer the best prices and discounts, and if there are any promo’s or coupons you can utilize.
Have a great weekend, be safe, and make good use of the recommendations I have provided to (hopefully) enhance your weekend shopping experience!
